I-Assure was conceived by current and retired Air Force members as a concept, rather than a contract company. During a Unit Compliance Inspection (UCI), the Air Force Inspector General promulgated a Special Interest Item regarding Certification and Accreditation (C&A) of deployed messaging and network connectivity systems. After 37 Air Force units received unsatisfactory ratings, members from the 236th CBCS successfully produced the required C&A documentation and passed the UCI. One member received the Air Force Information Assurance Person of the Year Award.
Based on the success while "wearing the uniform" a small company was formed to help other DoD agencies comply with C&A requirements. Today, I-Assure is a jointly owned company that employs National Guard, retired Military and retired Civil Service personnel to provide Information Assurance solutions to our clients.
