Errors on startup

On startup of the i-Assure v3.0.1 software I receive the following errors:

Microsoft .NET Framework
Unhanded exception has occurred blah blah...

The 'Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0' provider is not registered on the local machine

I haven't had time to research the forums or spend alot of time google engineering. Anyone have this problem before - or know of a quick fix. I'd like to give this product a test drive as I have about 15 systems coming up for re-accred and this looks like it may be useful.

Btw, I tried v3.0.1 and the beta, they both have the same error on my primary machine. I also tested v3.0.1 on another test machine and get this error:
Could not load file or assembly "System.EnterpriseServices.Wrapper.dll"....

Are ACA validations required by DIACAP?

Hello, new to this forum but have been doing DIACAP for some time. Currently working with the Navy to transition to DIACAP from DITSCAP and was wondering if ACA validations are required in order to get an ATO in DIACAP? My last job was working on a ACA team for the Army and I know they require it. Any advise because if they need a ACA visit we are in trouble...

DIACAP Toolset 3.1

I have the latest beta version of the DIACAP Toolset v3.1.

I spent 2 hours cutting and pasting comments into the scorecard validation procedures then lost them when I exited the program.

I have since tried repeatedly to save one (any) comment and am unable to do so.

Is this a bug or is there a trick to saving comments.

During annual reviews, it would benefit users to generate a soft copy of the DIACAP Validation Procedures report which contains comments entered for each IA Control Test #.

Project deleted after editing System Name with Edit Wizard

I finished entering 115 IA controls and then I looked at the report. I
noticed that the system name needed to be changed so I closed out of it and
clicked edit project. I added the correct system and name and then clicked
next a few times and then finish. It said something about the name too long
and closed the edit project wizard. When it closed the edit project wizard my
project that i had been working on disappeared.

Is there any way I can get it back or does anyone know what could have
happened to it?

Upgraded to v 3.0.1 and got an error

Cannot re-open artifacts

I have several DIACAP projects created in the I-Assure Tool. I have not had to update anything in the last couple of months, but I am in the process of updating one of the projects. When I click on the documents to open then, it does nothings. Sometimes I will get an error stating that the "File not found," but for the most part, it does nothing. I created a new project on Friday and added an artifact and opened it back up, no problem, but when I tried to open the artifact this morning, Monday, I am having the same problem. Can any one help with this? Thanks.

When trying to update one of the projects in I-Assure, I am unable to open any of the artifacts. It mostly does not do anything, but every once in a while, I get the error: "File Not Found." I thought that maybe it was because they were older products that were created on my old machine and exported to my new one, so I created a new project and added an attachment on Friday. I was able to open the artifact on Friday, but today (Monday), I am unable to open it with the same problem as the old ones. Can anyone help with this issue?

Syntax Error Prevents Completion of Create Project Wizard

System Identification Profile (SIP) updates don't take

When I edit my project I always get the error "Failed to enable constraints. One or more rows contain values violating non-null, unique, or foreign-key constraints." I can't update the full system name or acronym.

Is this by design or does someone know how to correct this? I've tried to edit the ".xml" file with a text editor but the toolset refuses to import the file after this.

v3.1.1BETA Exception when creating document sections

Generally an excellent product, but may have to go back to v3.0.1. There seems to be a bug somewhere....

See attached errorbox capture image. When choosing 'Create' under reporting options, the error message shown is generated. This only happens under the 'create' tab. Under the 'Save PDF'/Save RTF' and 'Save Excel", the program functions properly, however only Implementation Plan and ScoreCard are available as outputs.

AutoRTM not working..

Installed AutoRTM with no erros but when I try to open the application I see the computer working but the applcation never opens and there is no instance of it running in the back ground..

I am using version 3.1 of the toolset, I have found no way to edit an existing packet. Every time I do try and edit is brings me to the screen to create a new project. When I tried to use the help, I see the different topics, but when I click on one of them nothing happens at all. I can see where this tool will help me a great deal in some taskings I have, but if I cant get it to work correctly, I dont see where I can afford the time to try it out.

Is there some secret to using the help section and is there the basic users manual any where?

I am new to the auditing side of DIACAP, but when I used to get audited, the team would run Retina, Gold Disk, Nessus and I think one other program. After a couple of weeks when I could get the information back, it was in an Excel sheet with a list of controls and a place where I needed to write my actions taken and then we would have a very large document full of findings. The findings documentation was broken up by control and then within the control it would have all the findings that corresponded with that control, what machines were affected and some other information regarding the finding (what tool discovered it, description of problem, where to find the fix, etc.) The report wasn't the actual Gold Disk findings or Retina results.

There is no way they would type all that up, so I assumed they had some sort of automated program or script that would compile the xml files or something. I was curious if anyone knew about such programs, has a script they are willing to share, point me in the right direction, a better idea....something?

Beta 3.1.1 Software Suggestions

I've reviewed the beta version of your tool and have a few suggestions:

-Remove duplicated controls - Mac I Classified assigns dupes

-Add a "Remarks Field" to the POA&M so that we can add our specific system findings for each of the controls. The field should be able to hold a reasonable amount of info.

-Reclassify the subject area for the IAAC control to "Identification and Authentication" vice "Enclave and Computing Environment" - based on the DoDI 8500.2 explanation of the first two digit signifier for each control ... they have incorrectly classified this control. All other official documented instances of this control have it correctly classified under the IA subject area.

Artifact Insert Fails

I am using the Beta version 3.1 and cannot seem to be able to insert IA Control artifacts. I get the following error:

"System.IO.IOException: The process cannot access the file 'C:\Program Files\I-Assure\DIACAP Toolset\artifacts\CDITEST\Personnel_Security_Artifact.doc' because it is being used by another process."

I have tried inserting several different files and ensured that they are not in use by any other apps, and have full r/w permissions, etc. I have tried this on both a Vista and XP box with the same results. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for all of your hard work on this project.

Error after selecting Create DIACAP Full IA Control Text Report (last option in pull down menu)

i was trying to create a report that lists the control name, description, guidance, etc (which appear in bottom of the tool, but do not print). i believe that canned report would be just that. selecting that option kicks me out of the application and i need to restart the Tool Set application.

UNIX Box to Windows Box

Our DAA refuses to accpet the risk of the use of freeware. This impacts us because we use SAMBA to connect a Unix Box to a Windows Box. From what I have researched, there is no commercial program, at least that I can find that does the same. Are you aware of any program that is licensed and would mitigate this porblem? Any other suggestions? Also does your company do penetration testing?

I have been extremely frustrated trying to find the exact guidance on the who, what and how of what the Memorandum of Agreements have transitioned to for the DIACAP. If I have been looking right at it, I for some reason still can't see it. Please someone tell me, has the MOA turned in to the Interconnections Security Agreement? Has this documentation just been disregarded and added to the Scorecard? If so, where can the written guidance be found?

I generated a DVA Test Plan and Procedures report for a MAC III Sensitive system using tooset_v3.1.1_BETA. The report contained not only the control set requested but also included some MAC I and MAC II controls and at the very end included some random controls from the NIST SP800-53. Is this a bug or did I do something wrong?

I inherited a machine that had the toolset loaded on it some time ago. I decided to click the autoupdater to see if there were any updates. It gave me an error saying it could not find File 'http://www.i-assure.com/products/diacap/diacap.xml' and did I want to try and get other updates?

I said yes but there were no other updates. That's fine, but is there at least supposed to be a diacap.xml file to find?

Hello,

I have downloaded both the 3.0.1 version and the 3.1.1 beta but both hang up on install.

Error message says "Checksum mismatch. The installation is corrupt or has been tampered with. If you downloaded this file from the internet, try cownloading again." I am installing on a Windows XP machine.

Any suggestions?

Error when creating using project wizard

Bug: cannot copy within DIP

I tried to copy data from the responsible party and paste it in another control and it pasted the entire row. Can you make it so I dont have to type "User Site" or whomever is responsible for the control every single time for 100 controls?

Maybe make it highlightable, clicking the box, highlights the box, click and drag highlights multiple boxes in row.
