Has EITDR completely replaced DIACAP? I understand that as you complete EITDR requirements, you are basically completing the DIACAP process as well. Please pass on your thoughts, likes and dislikes about the EITDR process, is it better than DIACAP, is it more paper-driven? I'm interested in your thoughts.

EITDR is Air Force only. It is a portfolio management system, in which the DIACAP is covered under the IT Lean Process. Basically, in EITDR, the ScoreCard and POA&M are online, but you still need to create all the required Artifacts to link (upload to document repository) the ScoreCard requirements as proof of compliance. EITDR does not replace the DIACAP--it is supposed to facilitate the process.

Personally, I think way to much time/money is spent trying to "manage" the process, rather than getting systems technically compliant. If you have access to the AF Portal, search EITDR and there is some pretty good information. If you have direct questions, feel free to e-mail our AF SME at barrett.mcguire@i-assure.com

Not that you need it, Supreme Dude, but I'm offering an amen from the peanut gallery.  Everytime somebody says "Hey, I know how we can do this easier/better/whatever" fasten your seatbelt, because your workload will NEVER decrease, you'll be doing it the old way AND the new way, each for specified audiences.  I'm seeing the same requirements that were included in a few major documents before, but now there are umpteen agencies, organizations, etc., all wanting their on format, their own way which means in effect, its more complicated than ever.  I'm still optimistic this will eventually shake down to something sensible, but right now it's pretty convoluted.  I guess that beats boring, huh?  Thank you for this opportunity to vent. :-)

I am new to this forum and it is soooo helpful! Do you know what the other portfolio management systems that are comparable to EITR are for the Navy, Army, etc.?

Yes, I found an ARMY briefing that stated "C&A status tracked in APMS for annual FISMA reporting".  I believe the National Guard falls under the ARMY for DIACAP purposes.  Can anyone confirm / refute?  Thanks.

I heard the AF is considering eMASS as their new C&A tool.  Not sure exactly which role EITDR will play, but as mentioned before, EITDR is a PfM tool with some DIACAP features.  It's actually fairly easy to use, but there can be significant lag time with validators ... especially if you don't have an artifact to substantiate your claim.
